What is Canada's federal skilled labour immigration program?
Developed and improved in 2015 as part of the Canadian government's ongoing efforts to develop and improve its economic migration programs, Canada's Federal Skilled Labour Immigration Program allows applicants to benefit from and access to Canada's Rapid Entry Program, in order to confirm and ensure advocacy for people who can be economically successful in Canada.
Under the laws and legislation governing the program, applicants fulfil the basic requirements set out by Canada's Citizenship and Immigration Service, called selection factors or basic acceptance scores to qualify for the federal skilled labour migration program.
Selection factors in Canada's Federal Skilled Labour Immigration Program:
The selection factors in this program are part of a 100-point points program through which applicants receive scores based on:
1. Age and educational level.
2. Scientific and practical expertise and access to a contract or job offer.
3. Potential and ability to integrate into Canadian society.
If applicants' transactions are accepted and pass the selection factors, people apply for the Quick Entry Program where they are rated based on the Comprehensive Points Program, which is the second points program through which applicants are rated and placed within the applicant pool of Canada Fast Entry Program.
The Comprehensive Points Programme classifies applicants based on several criteria, including: the experience of the President's applicant, the level of language and the level of education of the applicant or his/her wife, and other criteria, such as: obtaining Canadian certificates, obtaining a job offer or contract by the President's applicant, or having first-class relatives currently residing in Canada and having permanent residence in Canada.
The Canadian Department of Citizenship and Immigration then invites persons as well as eligible family members with the highest grades of all Fast Entry applicants and invites them to apply for permanent residency treatment in Canada, at which point applicants will be required to submit evidence and documentation proving that they have obtained the points that led to their invitation.
The applicant also provides evidence that allows them to enter Canada in both medical and financial terms, and that there are no security concerns that may arise from his entry and transfer to Canada.
Applicants' applications for permanent residence in Canada are processed through the federal Skilled Labour Migration Program usually 6 months at least , after which applicants and eligible family members are granted Canadian permanent residence.
